Information provided by the Artist: Liza Riddle has explored art and science throughout her professional and personal life. She began her university studies as an art major, but graduated with a BA in Zoology and, later, a masters in Environmental Planning from University of California, Berkeley. She spent two decades working to preserve and protect natural lands in the western states, then returned to art, focusing on ceramics. Her keen interest in exploring the natural world and her travels to more than 60 countries have greatly influenced her art. As a ceramist, she has exhibited her work throughout the United States, as well as in Europe and Japan. Her works have been selected for several prestigious international competitions, including the 62nd Faenza Prize (Italy) in 2023 and the 11th International Ceramics Competition in Mino, Japan in 2017.
