Information provided by the Artist: Stan Welsh was born in 1951 and grew up in Southern California in the town of Claremont 30 miles east of Los Angeles. In 1974, he earned his BFA degree from Kansas City Art Institute in Kansas City, Missouri, and in 1978, he earned his MFA degree from Alfred University in New York state. Welsh has been a professor at the School of Art and Art History at San Jose State University since 1981. He retired after 36 years of teaching and is currently Professor Emeritus at San Jose State University. In 2005, Welsh received the Arts Council Silicon Valley Artist Fellowship Award. In 1990, he received a California Arts Council Award and in 1986 he received a National Endowment for the Arts Award. His work has been included in numerous exhibitions nationally and internationally, and his work is represented in many important permanent collections including: Fred Marer collection, CA; Oakland Museum, CA; San Jose Museum, CA; Daum Museum, MO; and Ceramic Research Center A.S.U. Art Museum, AZ.

To pick up your artwork at the Crocker Art Museum, appointments will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for Sunday, June 9 and Monday, June 10.  A weblink to reserve your pick-up time will be sent to you upon payment of your invoice. Buyers may also ship their work at their own expense. Email artauction@crockerart.org for more information.
