Information provided by the Artist: Shimo is the owner of Shimo Center for the Arts. He is one of China’s most respected and well-known artists, and is a master of traditional Chinese blue-and-white porcelain. His exquisite translucent pieces meld ancient tradition with Western expressionism in 1,400-degree kiln. His work is included in the collections of the Crocker Art Museum, the city of Sacramento, the National Art Museum of China, the China Art Museum, the Liu Haisu Art Museum, and the Ningbo Museum. He has shown his works internationally, including in New York, Los Angeles, Sacramento, Taiwan, Japan, Indonesia, Beijing, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Ningbo, and Shenzhen. Shimo divides his time between Sacramento and China and serves as dean of the School of Fine Arts at the Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts.

To pick up your artwork at the Crocker Art Museum, appointments will be available on Friday, June 13 and Saturday, June 14. Buyers may also ship their work at their own expense. Upon payment of the invoice, winning bidders will receive more information about artwork pick up and shipping.
