Information provided by the Artist: Julie Clements’ sculptures are a blend of personal history, science, conservation, and current politics. Animals are central figures that Clements uses to express and evoke emotion and humor. She enjoys using funny narratives and a little bit of subversion to draw a viewer in before they realize that her work is usually about a serious topic. Crow tower is a response to seeing the juxtaposition of the giant monolithic nuclear towers in Galt among the farmlands of the central valley.
