Information provided by the Artist: Albert Chong is a contemporary artist working in photography, installation and sculpture. His works span personal mysticism, spirituality, and identity. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, in 1958, he immigrated to the USA in 1977 and lived in Brooklyn, NY and attended the School of Visual Arts in New York City where he received a BFA with Honors in 1981. He was active in the New York art scene up until 1988 when he left to attend graduate school at the University of California in San Diego. He received his MFA from UCSD in 1991 and in the same year accepted a faculty appointment at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He is a professor of art teaching photography.
