Information provided by the Artist: Sacramento native Janice Hironaka creates art that combines color and contrast with geometric shapes to reflect emotions, optimism, opportunity, hope. She received her Ph.D. from Oklahoma State University in 2005. A visit to the Corning Glass Museum inspired her to create fused glass. Her works reflect Kinetic Balance, a term she coined to encompass the interplay between shape, texture, and color. She was active in the greater Lansing, MI community as a member of the Arts Council of Greater Lansing and Working Women Artists and a board member of ARTspace. In 2020, she had a solo show at the Arts Council of Greater Lansing and was awarded first place in the Johnny Boland Memorial Competition. She is a member of Rancho Cordova Artists, Sacramento Fine Arts Center, and Northern California Arts. She lives in Rancho Cordova, CA, and is expanding to geometric collage and painting in the style of the Transcendental Movement.

To pick up your artwork at the Crocker Art Museum, appointments will be available on Friday, June 13 and Saturday, June 14. Buyers may also ship their work at their own expense. Upon payment of the invoice, winning bidders will receive more information about artwork pick up and shipping.
