The Crocker Art Museum's Silent Auction features over 100 original works of art by emerging artists and some of the biggest names in the Sacramento region and beyond. Bidding for the Silent Auction will open May 12 and ends Sunday, June 7, with one artwork closing every minute starting at 1 PM PDT.

Information provided by the Artist: Hector Dionicio Mendoza (b.1969, Uruapan, MX) lives and works in Salinas Valley, CA, and is a professor of Sculpture and Installation at CSU Monterey Bay. Mendoza holds an MFA from Yale University, New Haven, CT, and a BFA from California College of the Arts, Oakland, CA. Mendoza is represented by Luis De Jesus Los Angeles, he has exhibited internationally, is the recipient of esteemed awards and public art commissions. Mendoza is in the collection of The Crocker Art Museum, Sacramento, CA; Museum of Fine Arts Houston, TX; Mount Holyoke College Art Museum, South Hadley, MA; OZ Art NWA, Bentonville, AR; and numerous private collections. Hector Dionicio Mendoza’s work immerses viewers into a world evocative of Magical Realism, taking inspiration from oral histories, ethnobotany, and family traditions. Mendoza’s connections to immigrant labor and kinship with nature further embodies narratives expressed in the work through its materials, forms, and subject matter.

To pick up your artwork at the Crocker Art Museum, appointments will be available on Sunday, June 14 and Monday, June 15. Buyers may also ship their work at their own expense. Upon payment of the invoice, winning bidders will receive more information about artwork pick up and shipping.
