Brian Blood
Afternoon Light Over Cypress Point
2022
Oil on canvas
24 x 30 in.
Fair market value: $9500
Information provided by the Artist: Brian Blood’s mission as an artist is to share the everyday beauty of the world as he sees it, and he tries to capture a moment in time for the viewer to enjoy. His works convey the importance of light and shadow and a sense of strong design to help captivate the viewer and engage them in a discussion towards the preservation of such places. The paintings he creates are like pages in a diary: his vision, his thoughts, his travels. Blood feels people often overlook the obvious beauty around them, as they’re busy with events, family, and/or work-related matters, but he hopes his paintings allow them to pause and remember a special moment that helps them each day. For him, artwork—either his own or others —gives him a glimpse of the past, a view of somewhere he has never seen, or a look into the mind of another.
