Amy Vidra is a Sacramento-based abstract artist who received her BFA from the Cleveland Institute of Art in Photography with a focus on mixed media and sculpture. She is an award-winning abstract artist whose work has been in solo, group, and juried exhibitions nationally and internationally, with private collections throughout. She also teaches abstract and healing arts workshops and has been a juror for abstract competitions in the Sacramento area. Her mixed media work in the Baggage Series represents the baggage we carry over time that accumulates, that we hold onto, that we discard. Though baggage has many negative connotations, it is also something that implies a bag as a vessel, something we carry things in, something we carry with us, hold, gather, and collect.
