Information provided by the Artist: Rafael is a Cuban contemporary artist based in Paris whose practice explores themes of control, migration, automation, and social structures. His multidisciplinary approach includes installations, video art, painting, and performance, often questioning societal norms and the impact of modern systems on human existence. Through provocative use of everyday objects, his works invite viewers to reflect on the boundaries between the controlled and the uncontrolled, the legal and the illegal. Rafael’s art challenges the viewer to engage with complex issues such as displacement, labor, and identity. His works have been presented internationally, and he is committed to creating art that sparks dialogue and critical thought, offering new perspectives on the structures that govern our lives. Rafael is currently working on a series of conceptual interventions, questioning the intersection of economics, politics, and the human condition.
