The Crocker Art Museum's Silent Auction features over 100 original works of art by emerging artists and some of the biggest names in the Sacramento region and beyond. Bidding for the Silent Auction will open May 9 and ends Sunday, June 8, with one artwork closing every minute starting at 1 PM PDT.

Information provided by the Artist: Mark Steven Greenfield, a native Angeleno, received his BA from California State University Long Beach and MFA from Cal State Los Angeles. He was past director of both the Watts Towers Arts Center and the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery. His work focuses on the complex issues surrounding the African American experience in contemporary society. Through his work, Greenfield explores the psychological dimension of African American stereotypes, little known histories, spiritual practices, reimagined religious iconography, and subconscious mental cartography. He is a recipient of the L.A. Artcore Crystal Award, City of Los Angeles Individual Artist Fellowship, and California Community Foundation Artist Fellowship, and has been awarded residency fellowships at the Instituto Sacatar in Salvador, Brazil; the McColl Center for Art + Innovation in Charlotte, North Carolina; and Loghaven in Knoxville, Tennessee. His work is in the permanent collections of the California African American Museum and the Crocker Art Museum.

To pick up your artwork at the Crocker Art Museum, appointments will be available on Friday, June 13 and Saturday, June 14. Buyers may also ship their work at their own expense. Upon payment of the invoice, winning bidders will receive more information about artwork pick up and shipping.
