Information provided by the Artist: Born in Dailan, China during the Year of the Rabbit, Lin Fei-Fei defied expectations from an early age. Despite a fortune teller predicting she would be a boy, Fei arrived as a girl, challenging societal norms in a culture that favored boys. However, her family recognized her exceptional talent and provided her with the necessary resources to nurture it. Fei's passion for art led her to pursue a master’s degree in oil painting at the Luxun Academy of Fine Arts. Fei's artistic expression knows no boundaries, as she explores various mediums, including painting, paper cut-outs, street murals, and installations. Her work delves deep into the complexities of cultural and personal truths. For instance, her series titled "Not Your Bunny" challenges stereotypical impressions by portraying the concept that she is not the conventional bunny. Through her art, Fei sheds light on taboo subjects in Chinese culture, such as sexuality and mortality.
