Information provided by the Artist: Jaya King is an interdisciplinary artist known for creating dramatic texture and movement in her abstract and semi-abstract artworks. Her intention is to beckon the viewer closer, urging them to explore hidden narratives concealed within the layers of the painting. King pushes her own boundaries with her mural practice. Her current project is a large-scale mural and fabricated metal panel installation in a high-end housing development. She continues her contemporary studio practice preparing for her solo show at the Pence Gallery in June 2024. She is a Gloria Burt Sacramento Region Art Fellow and a California Arts Council Impact grant recipient. Jaya King is represented by the Hayden Arts Agency; her artwork is in the permanent collections at the Triton Museum of Art in Santa Clara, CA and the Museum of Encaustic Art in Santa Fe, NM.

To pick up your artwork at the Crocker Art Museum, appointments will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for Sunday, June 9 and Monday, June 10.  A weblink to reserve your pick-up time will be sent to you upon payment of your invoice. Buyers may also ship their work at their own expense. Email artauction@crockerart.org for more information.
