The Crocker Art Museum's Silent Auction features over 100 original works of art by emerging artists and some of the biggest names in the Sacramento region and beyond. Bidding for the Silent Auction will open May 9 and ends Sunday, June 8, with one artwork closing every minute starting at 1 PM PDT.

Information provided by the Artist: Janet Barnes is a passionate Northern California-based artist whose vivid mixed-media creations celebrate the warmth and intimacy of everyday life. She defines her work as “social abstract,” skillfully blending color, texture, and emotion to reflect themes of family, connection, and tradition. At the heart of her work is the dinnertime ritual—a sacred moment of togetherness where stories are shared, bonds are strengthened, and life unfolds around the table. Janet’s work has been exhibited in galleries, national exhibitions, and prestigious art shows, earning critical acclaim and numerous awards. Her work is part of the Crocker Art Museum collection, and she is a resident artist at the Joyce Gordon Gallery in Oakland, California. With each piece, she invites viewers to pause, reflect, and rediscover the significance of shared moments.

To pick up your artwork at the Crocker Art Museum, appointments will be available on Friday, June 13 and Saturday, June 14. Buyers may also ship their work at their own expense. Upon payment of the invoice, winning bidders will receive more information about artwork pick up and shipping.
