Public collections include the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Phoenix Art Museum, American Museum of Ceramic Art, Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Long Beach Museum of Art, Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts, Everson Museum of Art, Bates College Museum of Art, Arizona State University Art Museum, New Orleans Museum of Art, Racine Art Museum, Spencer Museum of Art, and others. Farraday Newsome grew up in the redwood forests of California, receiving her Bachelors in Art from the University of California Santa Cruz (1977) and Masters in Art with a Ceramic Emphasis from San Francisco State University (1987). Farraday Newsome's work is represented in the Crocker's permanent collection.
