LOT 116. Pasadena Art Experience: Ray Turner Studio Tour and Portrait Commission

Win the chance to have your portrait painted by well-known Southern California artist Ray Turner. The winning bidder and a guest will travel to Pasadena and enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of Turner's studio. After the tour, the portrait subject will work with the artist for a sitting. Turner's portraits are painted on glass, and can be seen in Population, his evolving, community-engaged traveling exhibition comprised of over 900 portraits that invite the viewer to contemplate notions of both collective and individual identity. Turner has artworks in numerous collections, including the Akron Museum of Art, the Whatcom Museum, the Museum of Glass, the Wichita Art Museum, the Long Beach Museum of Art, and the Huntington Museum.

This Pasadena experience also includes a private tour of artist Kenton Nelson’s studio. Nelson, a long-time friend and contemporary of Turner's, paints figures, landscape, and architecture bathed in light. Nelson’s paintings have been exhibited nationally and internationally. His work is in the Crocker's collection.

Transportation and accommodations not included. Experience must be redeemed before June 30, 2023.
